FINALLY...I finished the teacher appreciation gifts for the 4 teachers that work with my boys. I found this poem online and used it as the basis for my mini book
A Teacher for All Seasons
A teacher is like Spring,
Who nurtures new green sprouts,
Encourages and leads them,
Whenever they have doubts.
Who nurtures new green sprouts,
Encourages and leads them,
Whenever they have doubts.
A teacher is like Summer,
Whose sunny temperament
Makes studying a pleasure,
Preventing discontent.
Whose sunny temperament
Makes studying a pleasure,
Preventing discontent.
A teacher is like Fall,
With methods crisp and clear,
Lessons of bright colors
And a happy atmosphere.
With methods crisp and clear,
Lessons of bright colors
And a happy atmosphere.
A teacher is like Winter,
While it’s snowing hard outside,
Keeping students comfortable,
As a warm and helpful guide.
While it’s snowing hard outside,
Keeping students comfortable,
As a warm and helpful guide.
Teacher, you do all these things,
With a pleasant attitude;
You’re a teacher for all seasons,
And you have my gratitude!
With a pleasant attitude;
You’re a teacher for all seasons,
And you have my gratitude!
By Joanna Fuchs
I decided to do a mini and put each season on one page. Here is all of them together.
The only patterned paper I used is on the cover and it is from The paper Studio. The teachers are from the Imagine cartridge Best Friends.
Here is a close up of the front.
I used my Imagine with Lacy labels printed with Enjoy the Seasons for all of the poem through out the book. I then printed the poem on my printer.
Here is the first page.
I used pages from Locker Talk that had tabs and then I covered the tabs with items from each season. I really wanted to use Enjoy the seasons so I made a the tree for every season.
Here is the next page
Aren't the trees cute?
Here is the third page
And the fourth page (with my favorite tree)
And now the last page
These are the only pictures I had to include, but I felt the rest of it told the story well! It is hard to see but I had my son sign the book above the sissors.
And finally here is the back
I hope they like them, I have put in some hours into them today!
The best part of the whole thing - it is ALL done with my Cricut E2 or Imagine and besides the one piece of printed paper, it is all made from my scrap box.
Here is a list of cartridges I used:
Alphalicious
April Showers
Best Friends Imagine
Celebrate with a Flourish
Creative Memories Cheerful Season
Designer's Calendar
Doodlecharm
Enjoy the Seasons Imagine
Paper Doll for Everyday
H2O
Just a Note
Lacy Labels
Locker Talk
Nate's ABC
Playtime
Snow Friends
Stretch your Imagination
Winter Lace
Thanks for looking, and thank you to all the teachers out there!
